Richard McVetis

Richard McVetis was a resident member of Textiles Hub London from 2013 to 2017. He uses stitch to convey delicacy and power in finely crafted textiles for installation and exhibition.  His ‘timed’ seed stitches cover areas of felted wool in map-like patterns creating juxtaposed stories of permanence and tracings in the softest of materials.  Flat embroidered pieces are pinned and mounted and sculptural pieces are stacked or presented behind plexiglass.

Of British and Lithuanian heritage, McVetis’ work explores the language of time, evolution, permanence and impermanence.  You can enjoy his work at Flow Gallery in Notting Hill, London, or attend one of his masterclasses at Ray Stitch in London.
