Yi Miao Shih was a resident member of Textiles Hub London in 2015. She uses embroidery as a form of illustration with narratives that accentuate political, cultural and historical moments in British culture. Her repeating, recognizable motif is the white rabbit which serves as a compelling characterization that enables the free expression of complex issues.
Of Taiwanese heritage, her work explores cross-cultural narratives in textiles in an original and enticing way. Following a masters’ degree in Illustration at the Royal College of Art in London, she specializes in fine art textiles and was selected by Grayson Perry for the Royal Academy Summer Show in 2019.
