Yi Miao Shih was a resident member of Textiles Hub London in 2015. She uses embroidery as a form of social illustration with narratives that describe political, cultural and historical moments in British culture. Her repeating motif is the rabbit which acts as a compelling characterization that enables free expression of complex themes. Of Taiwanese heritage, her work explores the language of expressive, cross-cultural narratives in textiles. Following a masters degree in Illustration at the Royal College of Art, she specializes in fine art textiles and went on to be selected by Grayson Perry for the Royal Academy Summer Show in 2019.
